Our History

From Straws to Global Plastic Bag Manufacturer

1968 – The Beginning

Founded in 1968 by Mr. Wichien Tiyaboonchai , Sahachit Watana began with the production of plastic drinking straws, becoming the first in Thailand to introduce individually wrapped straws, quickly adopted by major enterprises. His customer-focused mindset and responsiveness to market needs became the foundation of our business.

1970s – Expanding into Plastic Bags

We became one of Thailand’s first manufacturers of polyethylene plastic bags, prompting significant growth and relocation to a larger facility in Suburban Area.

1982 – Official Registration

The company was officially registered as Sahachit Watana Plastic Industry Co., Ltd., marking
a complete transition to plastic bag manufacturing.

1990s – Global Expansion

Continued success in both local and export markets led to further relocation and expansion of our production capabilities to meet rising global demand.
